some thoughts on the FF show

hi all, Judi and I spent some time yesterday in the show. I am thinking of starting with Maggie herself and then transitioning to history of photography as "fine art" and opportunities (or lack of them) for showing photos. Then why and how Maggie got the boat docked and operating..and going on to the different groupings and the concentration on educational outreach programs etc. We also noticed how many of the works are nd (not dated) tour goers will surely ask why. we thought perhaps due to the way the photos were not really properly archived and stored, and some perhaps due to a freer, less commodified atmosphere in the 70's. Not everything was carefully documented by the artists themselves either. Anyway, hope Melanie and I get some visitors on Sunday..other docents always welcome as well!
